Are all your classes Hot?

We get a lot of questions about our studio environment and understand that it can be confusing, even intimidating, to decide what style class to take. Then you wonder, how hot and humid will it be? Here’s a breakdown of our offerings—hopefully it’ll help. (of course we’re always happy to answer any questions you have in person, by phone, by email, and by text as well)

Hot 60 is our hottest and most humid class. It is based on the Bikram yoga style, with 26 poses done 2 times. The temperature is set at 104 with humidity. With our specific Yoga Climate Tower and Infared Heat panels the room will start off at around 96 degrees and by the end of class hit around 104. Some studios have extreme heat—with the class temp between 105 and 115 degrees. Our intention is for the room to be hot enough to really allow you to get into the poses, but not to necessitate escape😊.

The Hot 60 class shortens the 90 minute Bikram class to 60 minutes. This means the poses are not held for quite so long and the breaks between poses is slightly shorter. Although the heat might take some time to acclimate to, since the format and poses repeat in every Hot 60 class, this is a great class for beginners. There is always detailed instruction about how to do each pose, and there are stopping points before the pose is in its full expression (which you never need to reach), so there is an ease for new yogis but also a challenge for even the most advanced practitioners. This is a class for building strength, flexibility, and for overall healing.

Our Heated Vinyasa/Power classes range from 85-95 degrees. These classes offer a more traditional take on vinyasa. All of our Power Yoga/ Vinyasa classes have flow to them and our expert instructors each place their own personal imprint on the class.

Joseph’s classes offer detailed alignment queuing and challenging flow. He has 2 classes a week set at the same time on Tuesday and Thursday. He teaches a new class each week but the flow Thursday is very similar to Tuesday to give his students the opportunity to learn the sequence and then deepen the poses. This doesn’t mean that if you miss his Tuesday class you will feel left out, you’ll get the same deep focused instruction on Thursday that he gave on Tuesday. But if you happened to be in class on Tuesday you will get a chance to possibly add to any given pose. Maybe turn a twist into an arm balance, or lift your feet in crow…

Stevie adds Functional Range Conditioning to his Vinyasa flow, teaching you to consciously control the entire movement (transition) in and out of poses using both strength and control. This is a class for all levels that is not to be missed.

Don’t be fooled by Chinatsu’s soft voice and warm smile. Her Vinyasa class will work you hard and her alignment cues will keep your practice authentic. But you can also take Chinatsu’s Yin class. There you’ll push yourself in a different way and we love how open it makes us feel, hopefully you will as well.

Try all our instructors as they each offer a slightly different take on traditional vinyasa flow yoga.

We added Sculpt classes in February 2022 as it is a wonderful compliment to vinyasa and power yoga. A sculpt class will feel a bit more like a gym class but in a beautiful studio room. The room will be between 85 and 90 degrees adding a little heat to the practice that builds heat form the physical aspect.

But yoga isn’t all about pushing our bodies. We also need to be able to quiet our minds and soothe our bodies. For that we offer Restorative yoga, Yin yoga and our wondrous Sound Bath. The Restorative and Sound Bath are simply relaxing body and mind expanding. Yin is slightly different it can be relaxing as the environment is set with low light and relaxing music but the instructor will guide you into active stretching that can be somewhat intense. With yin you are actively working to help the body release tightness and tension.

I hope this little Blog post helps you understand our offering and enables you to choose classes to form a well rounded yoga practice for your individual needs.

Peace and Blessings
